Creator ads on LinkedIn

Creators are totally becoming a thing on LinkedIn.

Find the right people to talk about your product or service and you can reach way beyond your existing audiences and build trust.

Recently LinkedIn added a collaboration post tag. Now it is making it easier to reach even more people by allowing you to boost creator content.

‘Thought Leader ads’ were previously limited to employee posts but are now open to any post on the platform.

The combination of creator content and ads could prove an excellent way to build your brand and attract new potential customers.

Threads gets swipey

Threads is taking a page out of Tinder’s book with a new swipe feature.

Now you can swipe left if you don’t like the content and swipe right if you do. This will train the algorithm to understand what you want to see.

It’s much less annoying than prompts on some networks asking you if you found a post helpful, but what if we swipe the wrong way? Is our algorithm messed up forever?

And how can we make sure the right people swipe our content?

Share Instagram comments to your story

Comments are gold. They’re a strong signal to social algorithms that your post is worthy and they are a wonderful way to get to know your audience.

Now you can share the love. If someone leaves you a quality comment on your posts you can give them extra kudos by sharing it in an Instagram story.

This feature was in test mode for the last few months but has just been rolled out to more users.

Insta ads with promo codes

How can you get customers to make the decision and purchase? Discount code! They’re good for making sales and they’re great for tracking.

But what if people don’t use the code?

A new ad type from Instagram will automatically apply relevant discount codes when your customer checks out.

This works with Instagram shops so clearly isn’t an option for those of us based in the EU.

Updates to LinkedIn Collaborative Articles

Have you contributed to a collaborative article on LinkedIn? Have you seen contributions from your network in your feed?

LinkedIn has done a great job at incentivising contributions, in turn it gets lots of free content.

Now it’s adding new features to these articles including making the prompts more specific to those who see them, adding an ‘unhelpful’ button for feedback, and expanding into more languages.

To make articles easier to find it’s also adding a ‘Collaborative articles’ filter to search.

These contributions are a quick way to create content and be visible in the feed amongst your network.

15 images on Instagram Carousels

Carousel posts on Instagram are algorithm-friendly. And now, for some, photo dumps can be bigger.

Instagram is experimenting with upping the number of slides in a carousel from 10 to 15. Which is nice.

Boost your Instagram posts on Facebook

Do you boost posts on Instagram? If so you could soon be reaching a brand new audience on Facebook.

According to social media commentator Ahmed Ghanem you will soon be offered a Facebook placement when you boost.
