If that’s your audience take another look at Snapchat.
Particularly because this week they’ve handed us new business tools.
They launched business accounts this week with select brands but it’s expected to be rolled out to all businesses by the end of the year.
New features include:
- Highlights (just like on Instagram)
- Integrated shops that will work with Shopify (just like Facebook and Instagram)
- Highlighted lenses
- Better analytics

New Snapchat navigation mimics Tiktok
If you use TikTok for business which network are you looking at for a backup?
Many TikTok users are encouraging their following to move to Instagram but is Snapchat a better solution?
Snapchat is taking advantage of the problems TikTok are having by testing new navigation.
As well as tapping and swiping left to right they are adding a new swipe up feature that will move you on to the next story. This mimics TikTok’s swipe up navigation and could make people fleeing TikTok feel more comfortable and at home in Snapchat.
Pinterest Updated Algorithm Will Burst Your Bubble
The problem with Algorithms is that they tend to keep us in a bubble. The same people see our content over and over again and the same people engage. Although this is great for building a strong audience it’s hard to reach more people.
This is an issue the Pinterest is attempting to fix with a new algorithm update.
Adjustments to its algorithm are designed to surface more new content in your feed. That means you won’t see the same content as frequently. Even though engagement with accounts remains a factor other signals have been added.
Including:
- More video content with actionable ideas. I’m guessing that means tutorials.
- Pins that are more representative of a diverse community.
This will mean that more of your pins could get seen and if you are serious about Pinterest, get making videos.
YouTube To Show You Videos Your Audience Watches
How much do you know about the people that consume your content? YouTube is about to tell you more.
A new feature being rolled out to YouTube analytics shows you the videos your audience watches,
This will help you find out more about your audience, it will help you understand if you are reaching the right people and it will also show you the style of videos and the topics they like to watch.
TikTok Ads for all
Is now a good time to advertise on TikTok?
Amongst the news of potential bans in the US, UK and Australia and a real ban in India TikTok has rolled out its self serve ads platform to all businesses this week.
Plus, they are offering you ad credits to help get you started with ads on the platform.
If you are already using TikTok this could be a great opportunity to get maximum exposure. If you aren’t on TikTok yet this isn’t the time to start, if you created ads that jar with the organic content on the platform you’ll waste your time and the voucher.
If TikTok is a platform for you take time to learn how the channel works and create content that mimics and engages the audience there.

Is LinkedIn about to launch virtual meetings?
What if you could have virtual meetings on LinkedIn just like you can on Zoom and in Facebook rooms?
It seems like the prefect home for meetings and it seems they are considering adding this feature.
Reverse engineer Jane Manchan Wong discovered a prompt the will ask if you want to connect existing meeting software to your messages so you can schedule and host meetings there.
This looks like a reaction to Facebook Rooms and could work even better for business meetings and even discovery calls.
Facebook badge shows you unread group posts
When you visit a Facebook group it’s so hard to see new posts. Even if you are an admin you can find yourself scrolling for ages past posts you have read but have new comments and engagement before you find something new.
Facebook are working on a solution to this. A badge with a blue dot icon will appear at the top right-hand corner of the post to indicate a new post.
I’m looking forward to this being rolled out both in my own group and the groups I’m a a member of.
