Instagram is not limiting you to 5 tags
Could hashtags soon be over on Instagram?
It’s such a pain adding them to posts. So when users got notifications that they couldn’t add more than 5 to their posts, I was kinda glad.
It seems that the notification was a ‘glitch’, but is it a hint of what is to come in the future?
Instagram expert Jenn Herman thinks so and I agree.
So for now keep adding your tags but also be aware that keyword search is growing and I imagine AI is getting way better at identifying what your image or video is about too.
Create Instagram stickers from videos
What if you could create animated video stickers for your Instagram account without being a techie person or using confusing tools?
Well, you can. Instagram just expanded its cut-out sticker tool to include videos.
Choose a video from your phone library. It needs to have a distinct subject in the frame. Then select a section of the video you want to use and it will cut it out for you.
Once you’ve made it, it will stay in your sticker library. I found it hit-and-miss on the cutting out, it depends on the background, but I just know I’m going to have fun with it.

GA4 glitch hides your 2023 traffic
Google Analytics made a small change to reporting that has users seeing no traffic since September of 2023.
But it’s OK, the traffic is still there you just need to change your primary dimension.
In traffic reports, Google changed the main measurement dimension to ‘Session primary channel group’. If you change it back to ‘Default channel group’ your traffic will be restored.
Meta chat box is going away
The Facebook chat widget for your website made it easier for you to have conversations with the people who visit your site.
You didn’t have to configure a whole new tool, it could all be done via Facebook/Meta.
I’m saying was, because Meta is removing this feature. That means if you have a chat widget on your site you’ll need to get rid of it or replace it with a different service.
Add a lead form to your TikTok business
How do you convert TikTok followers into customers if you aren’t an e-commerce site?
A new feature may help. Business users will now be prompted to set up a ‘Business page’ that contains additional information about their business.
One feature of this page is a lead form. You can add a header image, a description and a CTA.
The CTA is limited to phone or direct message at the moment. Hopefully, we’ll see additional options appear.

YouTube RSS for podcasters
If you’re a Podcaster you may want to boost your distribution by adding it to YouTube. But unless you are recording video podcasts this process can be painful.
But YouTube just made it way easier. You can connect your podcast RSS feed to YouTube and it will automatically bring it in and generate an image that will show instead of a full video.
It’s a quick way to get more ears on your content and could be great for business with an existing YouTube audience and for discovery.

No politics on Threads
Politics is a topic we are discouraged from talking about at dinner parties. And when you see how social media works you can understand why.
With elections coming up across the world Threads announced that it’s going to stop recommending political content in the feed.
That means if you follow political accounts you will continue to see content from them. But you won’t see it in the ‘For You’ feed unless you opt-in.
I see a lot of upset people on Threads right now but it’s nice to have a space where we can choose to avoid this often stressful content.
