Twitter verification is back
Companies, brands and organisations are some of the types of Twitter accounts that will be eligible as Twitter verification re-opens.
According to Twitter verification:
“… gives people on Twitter more context about who they’re having conversations with so they can determine if it’s trustworthy”
This makes it an important badge to get for business. Trust is at the heart of most marketing strategies.

Upload to Instagram via the web
One of Instagram’s USPs used to be that it was mobile-only. But that’s changed over time. The final step to making it cross-platform is on its way.
Soon you’ll be able to upload to Instagram directly from the web, you’ll even be able to add filters. This will be helpful to businesses that don’t connect their Instagram account to Facebook. It will also make the network accessible to those who don’t own, or don’t like to use smartphones.
Will it help grow the non-mobile audience?
LinkedIn boost post
LinkedIn is launching a boost post feature, just like Facebook’s one. If LinkedIn wants to generate more revenue from its ads, it needs to make it easier for businesses to buy them, and that’s exactly what ‘Boost’ does.
Instead of having to navigate their complex ads manager, you’ll be able to click a button on a company page post, add payment info and run your ad.
LinkedIn recommends boosting posts that already have good engagement.
Google expands Shopify Integration
Google wants to make it easier for retailers to display their wares on their platform.
One of the ways they will do this is by expanding and simplifying its integration with Shopify.
Shopify users will be able to feature their products across all Google services with just a few clicks of a button.
This and other updates to Google shopping will make it a solid contender, an intent-driven contender, to Facebook and Instagram shopping (and even Amazon)?

Insights for Reels & Instagram Live
We know Reels are great for Instagram reach, right? But without some stats it’s hard to measure just how great.
This week Instagram launched Insights for Reels, and for Instagram Live.
These stats will give you an in-depth look at how your video content is doing. Including reach and plays for Reels and reach and concurrent viewers for Live.
So much better than a simple video view count, you will now be able to understand more about how your videos are performing.

Twitter spaces for the web
We live in a mobile-first world but that shouldn’t mean we abandon desktop tools.
Twitter just launched Spaces on the web. You can now join them from your laptop, but you can’t start them from there yet.
On the plus side, that means you can connect your pro microphone so you sound great as a guest. And you can listen or join in while you work.
The downside is that you need to find a Space announcement and click it to enter a chat. Will we soon see Fleets on the web as a shortcut?
Twitter about tab
Twitter bios are tiny. It’s hard to fit in all the information you need to. But that’s about to change.
A new ‘About tab’ will show extra information about your account. It will contain your location, if your account is confirmed, and in the future, pronouns and content showcases.
