Instagram Stories Drafts
Have you ever started an Instagram story, got distracted, and then had to start again from scratch? Or you’ve created something amazing but it’s the middle of the night. You’d be better waiting until morning to post?
You could save your story to your phone and upload later, but you’d still need to add all the Instagram interactive elements again.
Not anymore. Instagram is testing Instagram story drafts. You’ll be able to save your story and post it later.
You could use it to batch content as well as save in the moment stories for later.
Speed up WhatsApp voice messages
Consuming voice messages takes time. So much so that many people leave the voice messages they receive unread until they can find time to concentrate.
Does WhatsApp have the solution? It seems they are testing the option to speed up voice messages to 1.5x or 2x normal speed. This makes listening less time consuming and maybe we’ll listen right away instead of waiting.
Watch YouTube videos on Twitter
It’s annoying. You post your YouTube video on Twitter but when someone clicks they have to leave the platform to watch it. And, you can’t upload long videos to Twitter.
We know that people on social networks don’t like to leave, and those social networks certainly don’t want to be sending people off-platform.
Twitter is testing the option to play your YouTube videos from within Twitter itself. This means you’ll get your video view without sending people off to another site.
Facebook Audio Rooms
Can Clubhouse survive if everyone can copy their thing?
Facebook is working on Audio Rooms, similar to their video rooms but with sound only.
You’ll be able to create live audio rooms or private rooms. It could be a great way to hold conversations with customer groups in private, or share interviews publicly.
Audio definitely is a trend and it’s hard to see how Clubhouse can survive now all the social networks are stealing their thing.
Facebook green screen for stories
It’s not often we talk about Facebook stories but they just got a cool update. Green screen. This tool works a bit like Zoom backgrounds. It identifies your background and lets you fill it with a photo or video.
This was a popular tool on TikTok and has been rolled out to Instagram reels and stories. Now you can use it on Facebook.
If you want a good quality green screen, place yourself against a contrasting background so that it’s easy for it to pick up what’s you and what’s not.
A Twitter tab for spaces?
The problem with Twitter audio spaces is that, depending on who you follow, there aren’t always a lot of conversations to choose from.
It looks like Twitter is addressing this by considering a ‘Spaces’ tab. This could give us access to far more conversations beyond the people we follow.
Instagram DM from feed comments
It’s not always appropriate to respond to a comment publicly, in full. Sometimes we may want to expand on a personal customer query. Sometimes we may want to send a link to answer a question or we may ask people to comment if they want a resource. The only way to send a clickable link is by DM.
Instagram appears to be testing the option to respond to comments on feed posts by direct message. This is great news for businesses who want to send web links and lead magnets to people who ask for them.
