Twitter hiring a Tweeter in chief for @twitter
Job description is a good guide to using Twitter:
- “We have our own distinct story to tell, but we’re also host to the most amazing conversations in the world. We want to elevate and thank the people who use us. Spark conversations that highlight what unites us. Make the platform and world feel a little smaller.“

Question of the week. Do follower counts matter?
It’s like the old way news interviews used to be done live. Often it wasn’t live video but a file photo with them on the phone.
Follower counts are only one factor. If I see an account with 70 followers but really good content then I will follow it. But also if I see 70k followers and rubbish content I won’t follow. Also frequency of posting for me is important, so 100 tweets a day I will mute or unfollow. So I think it depends on what you want to achieve. If your business has 100k followed but get no engagement then it is useless.
Not drinking anything yet.
Can’t believe I actually asked (without seeing your Q of the Day) similar in WIN
I asked about followers in Women’s Inspire
I saw a twitter account with 114 followers and 2.5% engagement rate on the twitter analytics which in my view is very high. That’s because it was a niche account with great content and the followers of that account we really engaged. So in that case that persons twitter account was not suffering due to lack of followers.
Kate McQuillan and goodnight
