Last year I noticed something but it’s taken me until today to do something about it. It being International Women’s day today I figured it was time to address a big problem with my content curation.
The Problem
I seem to share a lot of content written by men, I share a lot of quotes from men, I share a lot of blog posts and thoughts from men.
This in itself isn’t a problem, I only share the best content but I’m missing something. I’m missing content from the awesome female bloggers, content creators and quotable geniuses. These people are out there but somehow I’m missing their content.
So my challenge, and yours too if you want to join me, is to find and curate more content on my main social media channels, created by women.
Watch More Here
It may seem hard at first but once you start looking you are bound to discover more. Here’s my list of blogger to start with. I’m sure as I follow I’ll find lots more to add to the list.
10 Female Social Media Bloggers You Should Be Following
Heidi Cohen
Heidi’s content marketing blog is a great read and they always end with actionable takeaways. She also interviews a lot of authors and I’ve picked up lots of book recommendations as a result.
Donna Moritz
Donna focusses on visual content marketing. Her posts are accessible and full of cool tools and tips. Always a great read.
Melonie Dodaro
Melonie’s blog is focused on LinkedIn although she does write about other social media too. A really great way to keep on top with new features.
Mari Smith
The Facebook Queen Mari Smith keeps you up to date with everything Facebook.
Andrea Vahl
I read a lot of Andrea’s posts over on Social Media Examiner but her own blog is packed with good info. Also, if you like mad wigs you should follow her over on Blab.
Peg Fitzpatrick
I saw Peg speak at Inbound last year and I included some of her tips in my post about the event. Her blog is an easy read and covers all aspects of social media.
Jenn Herman
Jenn writes about Instagram, she has become my go to blog whenever I need to know something about the network.
Krishna De
I’ve long admired Krishna De and she’s one of two bloggers on my list based in Ireland. She’s now focussing on live streaming. If there is anything you want to know about Blab, Periscope, Facebook Live or even Google Hangouts you should check out her blog.
Joanne Dewberry
You may remember I interviewed Joanne on my podcast last year. She writes about small business encompassing social media. What I love about her blog is her enthusiasm and the fact that she shares all the strategies she tries on social media.
Jill Holtz
My second Irish based female social media blogger. Jill runs MyKidsTime but is well know for her skills in content marketing and social media. I’m really enjoying the posts she writes in the business section of the MyKidsTime website.
