This is my last official week in the office before Christmas so I thought I’d play with some fun tools. Whether you want to Santa yourself, elf yourself, reindeer yourself there is something here for you.
1. Twibbon – Santa Hat
Twibbon, for those of you who haven’t used it before is an app that allows you to add a logo to your avatar. It’s designed for and usually used by campaigners and charities to drive awareness about a campaign. In this case it allows you to add a Santa Hat to your avatar. It’s simple to use but you only have the choice of one hat.
To add the hat log in using Twitter or Facebook, authorise the app and adjust the hat so that it fits your head.
2. PicMonkey
PicMonkey is a brilliant tool and is good fun too. I wrote about this one a couple of weeks ago. It’s great fun and you get a choice of hats, beards and other adornments.
Just upload an image, click on ‘Themes’ and start Santafying yourself. Here’s my latest creation.
3. Elf Yourself
Elf Yourself has been around for a couple of years now but it doesn’t get tired. Use your face on an Elf and make it dance.
This amused me a lot. It could be addictive.
And if you want to see my silly side watch me dance on the photocopier.
4. Xmas booth
This is a fun app for your mobile. It works on both Android and iOS. Load up or take a picture of yourself and add Santa hats or other holiday themed bits and bobs. I chose to become a reindeer this time although I think the Santa hat suits me better.
5. Is It Christmas Yet?
If you aren’t quite sure it’s worth checking it out here…
I like that it has recognised in Ireland and answered the question in the Irish language for me.
And the one that got away…
I was really excited to try ReelDoozy, an iPhone app that allows you to add dancing Santas and Elves to a pre-made video. Sadly after much fun shooting a video of me dancing they didn’t save. If I have any luck later I’ll post the result up to my Facebook page.
Part of me thinks it’s a good thing that I’ve spared you the site of me dancing.
